What's New from the Garage of the
Hot Rod Willys
January 2007

After my scrape with the wall at the March Meet last year, I am putting the car back in racing condition. I replaced the complete front end of the body and front one half of the frame and all the other damaged parts and the rear fender. I repainted the car and re-lettered it back to the original condition.

I put in a new funny car roll cage and front end parts. I am now in the process now of taking the car all apart to powder coat the frame and flooring and will put everything back together in the next few months.

I will not be making this year's Famosa March Meet. I have not decided if I will race the car again. I may retire Willys to a special place in my collection and take it out for a few shows.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed racing the Hot Rod Willys and winning three West Coast Goodguy Championships. I thank everyone for all their support; in the Pits, the Grand Stands, at Home, and all across the Globe. You made my racing days very special.
